The Glassy Plume Hydroid
Much like anemones, hydra lack the tissue for lungs or gills, so they use aquatic diffusion through their inner and out layers to get oxygen from the water that surrounds them. They are also anchored into the floor of the aquatic environment, to ensure they remain underwater so they can carry out the respiration they need for survival. Dissolved oxygen is absorbed, and carbon dioxide is released.
