The Human Liver Fluke
The Human Liver Fluke is a parasite that resides in the liver of human hosts. This parasite infects an estimated 30,000,000 people, most of which are in Asia. The Human Liver Fluke, like most other Platyhelminthes, lacks the tissue for specialized respiratory organs. This means the parasite uses anaerobic respiration, which is simply respiring through it's skin.
